UPDATE: See note below as to status for this event
UPDATE:
Here's the latest (as of April 25) on the status of the event from Jim Merryman and the Viper club:
Good Morning Everyone,
We wanted to give you a quick update on the status of our upcoming, May 18th, event at Shelton.
We have been in touch with the Port of Shelton (as recently as yesterday) and have agreement on their cancelation policy. They will give us all the way to the event to cancel, but we will not wait that long. We will make the call the week of the event.
I have no idea on the hotel situation in the Shelton area. I know they are open in the Oregon area, but have no food available.
We are still planning to have the event BUT it all depends on what the Governor of Washington decides between now and the week of the event. The Port and the Viper Club will follow the guidelines issued by him. He is supposed to make some announcements/decisions on May 1st. As you all know this is a very fluid situation and we will have to wait and see.
Right now we have 33 out of our maximum 40 drivers signed up. So we only have 7 spots open. The good news is, we are an outdoor event, we have limited attendees, we can easily practice physical distancing (note I did not say social distancing) and we are willing to incorporate any sanitizing/cleanliness requirements of the state. For example, we could all wear masks when near anyone, no guests other than immediate family, we can take temperatures at the point of signing waivers, provide wipes for pens, etc. etc. etc..........If they allow us to have the event, I am sure we can all work together to make it happen in a health and physical safe manner, that will meet the requirements of the Port and State of Washington.
IF it is not possible to have the event, we will reimburse all of your entry fee for the event.
Please look for our upcoming emails, we will keep you informed as we know more. We want to have the event!!!
Thank you,
Charley Reid

The club participates in two autocross sessions during the Autocross Weekend. Both are held at an abandoned landing strip at the Shelton Airport in Shelton Washington. The event on Saturday is sponsored and run by the Viper Club. The event on Sunday is put on by the NWACC organization. NWACC stands for NorthWest Association of Corvette Clubs and CMCS is a member of that group.
If you want to participate in these events, please RSVP here so we will know you are wanting to come and we will put you on our email list for these events.
But an RSVP will not get you access to either event. YOU MUST REGISTER WITH EACH SPONSORING GROUP!
To register with the Viper club click HERE
To register with NWACC click HERE
You should pay for each event on line in advance. The cost depends on if you are a member of CMCS or of the Viper club. Membership is not expensive in either organization and if you are a member of CMCS you get a discount on the NWACC events.
We usually have a caravan you can join on Saturday morning. We have a planned route and people join the caravan as we go. We stop in Shelton for breakfast and then continue onto the track and arrive about 7 AM at the Shelton airport.
Upon arrival we check-in, prepare the car and our site then walk the track to learn it til the event is ready to start. The events start at 9:am or earlier.
If you want to tour with us on the 16th we will depart at 4:45am sharp from the I-405 southbound "ON"ramp at exit 9.
You should bring your club radio.
