On Sunday, December 19th, we will be involved in the Woodinville Lighted Car Parade. The event starts at 6:00 PM, staging starts around 4?30 PM. This is a MUST DO to get into the Christmas spirit. This parade is also a non-Corvette event. The main reason you should bring your metal car is size. It is dark and bigger cars just show better. you can bring your Corvette, but it is fine not to. And the bigger the car the more lights you can put on it.
Please sign up on the club website, OR email John Kamm (email link below) and he will get you the meeting times and locations. This is a fun parade, and it does add so much joy to so many who are watching the event unfold. You really need to be there to feel the spirit and happiness it brings to the community. Please act soon as time is running out.
How do you put lights on your car? There are two ways to do this. you can purchase 12V lights, but they tend to be short in length and kind of dull in color. A long string of 115V lights is preferred.
Here is the easiest way to light up your car with 114 V lights:
First off, you need to put the plug in end into the car through a door opening or cracked open window. It is best to go with the door opening, just in case of rain. You will need about a 100 ft string of the small lights or the new LED lights. This will go around a full size car about 1.5 times. Attach the lights to the car with small strips of painter's tape. You can buy painters tape from any hardware store, and it does come in colors close to your car's color. ALSO, painters tape does not leave any sticky stuff after it is removed. And best to remove it within a few days after the parade for best results.
Now that you have the lights on, it is time to power them up. For that you will need a 150W power inverter that plugs into your car's power socket. The same socket you plug your cell phone into. These inverters cost abbout $20.00 (give or take) on Amazon. From the inverter just use a short extension cord to connect the lights. It is that easy.
