Once a year on July 4th weekend, Pacific Northwest Historics sponsors vintage car races at Pacific Raceway with proceeds going to Children's hospital. CMCS usually participates on Saturdays because that has historically been the best day. We get trackside parking in a Corvette section of the Car Corral and spectators are allowed to wander the entire facility including pits. Between races we are allowed to cross the track to watch from any vantage point. My favorite spot is on a hill overlooking the S curves, but then it is also fun to watch the cars fly past on the straight. Also we usually, but not guaranteed, get to drive a couple parade laps during the race officials' lunch.
Races were cancelled last year because of COVID and were initially projected to run with many restrictions until recently when they announced no restrictions. Of course that is subject to change if case counts go up.
Prices should be same as last year $30 for car and driver one day, $50 weekend, passengers $25 per day.
Normally this is a club sponsored event, but because time is short contact Debbie Haley at 206-227-9486 ASAP if interested in participating.
Remember to bring a folding chair, sunscreen, and hearing protection.
