CMCS EVENT

ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY CLEANUP

We will be kicking off our club’s 25th year of participation in the Adopt-a-Highway program on Sunday, April 10.  We need a few club members to volunteer some time to help clean up a section of I-5, located approximately 11 miles north of Seattle.  This is a great community volunteer opportunity and a chance to hang out with Corvette people for a few hours.

We will need 10 volunteers which will include 2 drivers and 8 trash pickers.  The drivers will need to bring their own vehicles that they are willing to use to haul volunteers and bagged trash.  The vehicles must be large enough to haul 4 volunteers and must have a hitch for our safety sign.  Big four door trucks and vans work great.  No corvettes this time.  The drivers stay in their vehicles, while the trash pickers do their job.

We will meet at 9:00am at the Metro Transit Bus Base Visitors Parking Lot, near the 175th St. NE Exit from I-5.  We provide the hard hats, safety vests, trash picker tools and bags.  You will need sturdy shoes, gloves, protective clothing, and a great attitude.  We will spend a couple hours cleaning up about a 1 mile long section of the southbound shoulder of I-5, then we may meet up for lunch afterwards.  Corvettes can come to lunch!

All volunteers must also complete the WSDOT Participation Registration Form:  Click   Here   to download the form.  If you know you have completed this form in the past, don’t worry about it.  If you are new to the program, please complete this form and send to Dave.  You can scan it or take a photo with your phone and text it to Dave.

All volunteers must also review the Pre-Activity Safety Plan: Click HERE  to view the Safety Plan.

You mush also watch this video: Click HERE

If you have any questions or need additional information, please click  HERE  to send an Email to Dave.

And remember, you get to keep any good stuff that you find.  So far, the record is a $400 dollar cell phone!

Thank you!
